Mobile measuring systems with corresponding requirements are increasingly needed for the verification of charging technology in the field in accordance with calibration law in order to check the conformity with calibration law after a repair or conversion on site. For this purpose, CuroCon GmbH has developed and implemented a mobile measuring system for calibration law-compliant service for a well-known manufacturer of charging infrastructure solutions using its existing cross-system expertise in the areas of testing, charging technology and e-mobility control devices. The technical key points of the energy recording are imprinted under real conditions and automatically measured with reference measuring equipment for the purpose of calibration law-compliant testing. The challenge here was to provide a system with a voltage range of 0...1000VDC and ±600A load sources for flexible load point testing in a compact design for mobile use in the field. The automatically generated measurement protocol with included OCMF data records can be subsequently verified by external test centers as required using generally available transparency software tools.

Together with the customer, a customized, automated measurement system with a phantom test concept was developed, installed, commissioned and approved by the CSA on behalf of the PTB. The system is currently being used for retrofitting the existing charging infrastructure within Germany in compliance with calibration law.

The mobile measuring concept can also be used for stationary tests in compliance with calibration law, in order to verify compliance with calibration law in the test field without having to apply real high power or discharge it via loads.

Technical key data:

  • Power connection 3x400V/32A
    • Type 2 connection to AC charging point
    • CEE 32A
  • Type 2 AC test connection with up to 20 kW load device (feed back into the grid)
  • CCS2 test connection:
    • U = 0…1000VDC
    • I = ±600A (optionally up to ±900A)
    • The base load + DC power loss is required as the power consumption in test mode. (Example: 4 kW power consumption with DC phantom power: 500kW = 1000V/500A - test point)
  • Dimensions (L/W/H): 1740 mm x 940 mm x 1000 mm (suitable for vans, incl. lashing eyes for load securing)
  • Weight: approx. 650 kg (can be handled with a forklift)
  • Mobile measuring system in the frame with vibration decoupling
  • Operator-guided automated test sequences & result logging
  • Environmental conditions:
    • Temperatures 5/45°C (measurement technology internally air-conditioned)
    • Humidity 10/70%
