ev-Trailer - New project - Development of an electric drive module for truck trailers

As part of the research initiative "ATEM - Drive Technologies for Electromobility", CuroCon is leading the new development project ev-Trailer. On February 11, 2016, the kickoff meeting took place at the project sponsor, the German Aerospace Center (DLR).

Partner

In addition to the consortium partners Fraunhofer IST, Fraunhofer LBF, TU Darmstadt/VKM and OSWALD, the companies FRAMO and SCHWARZMÜLLER are also involved in the development of the ev-Trailer.

Target

In the next 3 years, a self-sufficient truck trailer with an electric drive module will be developed. Dieser wird mit entsprechend innovativer Steuerungs- und Regelungstechnik ausgerüstet.The developed demonstrator should manage without communication with the tractor and - among many other advantages - enable fuel savings of the truck trailer of up to 25%.
